Review: Sundays at Tiffany's

Sundays at Tiffany's
Sundays at Tiffany's by James Patterson

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

I would rather give this book 3 stars out of kindness but 2 stars technically means "it was ok" and.. well.. it was just ok.

This book is very simple. You know how it ends from the first page. There are no surprises. No plot twist and practically no drama (aside from an apathetic scene or two). This book just doesn't have much to offer.

It's an impossible love story that just kind of makes you go "awww" the whole time. I read it in a few hours. Other than being wholly unremarkable, the only thing that truly bothered me was the "8 year old" main character was horribly written. She was supposed to be precocious but it was an epic fail. There was NO change in voice between her 8 year old self and her 32 year old self. It bothered me a lot but luckily you only have to put up with it for a few very short chapters before being fast-forwarded to the present.

All in all I really wouldn't recommend this. If you want to numb out for a couple hours and not use your brain, well then sure, this could be the book for you. If you are looking to be entertained or captivated.. look elsewhere.
